Ferrari 458 Speciale is Ruining Ferrari's Spirit

 

The Ferrari 458 may be the best Ferrari ever made, apart from the F12 Berlinetta. But now, the McLaren MP4-12C may have cleaned Ferrari's clock with it's faster speed. But now, Ferrari is fighting back with a "Speciale" version of it's 458.

 

It's the same 458, but with some blue and white racing stripes down the middle. The 4.5L V8 has been pumped up to 597 hp. This means a 0-60 mph time of just 3 seconds. There is also a 90 kg drop in the weight plus more technology to make the car handle better.

 

This sounds good, but Ferraris used to be about Italian passion for cars, not about seeing how fast you can get around a corner. Sure, the 12C can go faster than a Ferrari, but it has no personality. It's like hanging out with a robot and trying to make it laugh. It will never happen.

 

 

 

It seems Ferrari cares more about lap times than how a car drives. If they keep going down this path, they will end up just building cars that are basically computers on wheels with no personality and no reason to drive them except on a race track. At least Lamborghini still builds cars that are actually fun to drive without having to worry about lap times.
