Small Car Company Keating Unveils 340-MPH Bolt

When the car first came out, it struggled to get past the 10 mph mark. When cars started going 100 mph, law makers freaked out saying that cars are too dangerous and shouldn't be allowed to go at those speeds. Now though, cars can go way over 200 mph. The Bugatti Veyron holds the world record for the fastest road car at 254 mph.

Yesterday, a small car company in the UK named Keating unveiled an 800-hp supercar called the Bolt that can not only go 300 mph, but 340 mph. That leaves the Veyron left in the dust thanks to the Bolt's 7 liter V8. The sprint from 0-60 mph is done in 2 seconds flat. If these figures are accurate, this could not only be the new fastest car in the world, but the first road car to break the 300 mph barrier.

Of course, if that seems a bit frightening, there is a much tamer version of the car with just 640-hp instead of the beastly 800-hp monster. No word yet on when this car will be put into production, if at all. If dreams do come true and this car does go into production, it will most likely be around $1.2 million. For a car that's faster than the Veyron, that's a bargain since the current Veyron costs over $2 million.
