Car Review: 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo

Ever since it first came out, the Juke has become a quirky little fun to drive car with the same space as a much bigger SUV. Now, there is a much sportier version of the weird looking small SUV.

On the outside, it still looks like a regular Juke, apart from the red side mirrors. But if you look closely, the sides and the rear spoiler have all been changed to make the car more aerodynamic. The inside may also look the same, except for the red rev counter. But look carefully again, and you'll see some differences. The center console is designed to look like a motorcycle and there's a touch of suede on the doors and the steering wheel. Not to mention the comfortable suede racing seats in the front.

If you keep it in normal mode, it feels like a regular Juke. Everything is calm, quiet, and comfortable. But put it into sport mode and everything changes. The turbocharged four cylinder engine gets a boost to 197 hp. That doesn't seem like much, but you will notice it when you hear how angry and aggressive the engine sounds. The sprint from 0-60 mph now only takes 6.9 seconds, more than a second quicker than the regular Juke. Top speed still stays the same at 134 mph.

You also will notice how well this car handles in the corners. You get so much grip from the sport tires that there's no understeer or oversteer whatsoever. The Nissan Juke has become the best of both worlds. You get plenty of space like an SUV with the size of a four door sedan. Now, you can also have quick performance and great handling to go along with it.

Special thanks to Peters Nissan of Nashua for test vehicle.
