The Lexus IS300h Can Paint Your Portrait

It seems that hybrid and electric cars are going to be staying here for a while. Some people would say that's great while others would say that it's just taking the fun out of driving. Not only are hybrid and electric cars trying to make cars more friendly to the environment, they're also trying to tell you how to drive.

The Nissan Leaf for example builds a tree every time you drive slow. Now, the Lexus IS300h, in partnership with Art is Motion, has put in a software system that will paint a portrait of you as you drive along. You simply put a photograph into the system and depending on how slow you drive and whether you use the electric mode will paint a digital portrait and display it on the center display screen.

Of course, like the Leaf, if you drive really fast and drain the battery quickly, all you get is a stump instead of a tree. With the Lexus, if you drive fast, all you get is a scribbled mess instead of a portrait. All hybrid and electric cars should stop telling people how to drive and let them have fun while they drive.

Thankfully, there's only one Lexus that paints your portrait and it will be auctioned off soon. Until then, you can see how the art software works below.
