The Apple iGo Concept: Steve Jobs Idea of a Car

During his years as CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs managed to revolutionize the computer, phone, and tablet. When he died, there were many other concepts that never became a reality. One of them was his own version of a car.
Known as the iGo, this isn't like any car that is on the road today. Powered by an electric motor, this futuristic car can not only get from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds, it can also produce a fuel economy rating of around 300 mpg. Not only would it be just as fast as regular cars, it would have the highest mpg figures for any car.

Besides the speed and fuel economy, the car can also fold itself to drive around tight areas and to reduce the number of occupants. It has room to carry four passengers, but can fold to fit just the driver. Besides the neat folding technique, this car would also have been an autonomous vehicle powered by Apple's Cloud Network. So if you had too much to drink or wanted to hangout in the back with your date, the car could drive you both back to your place.

Sadly, this concept will most likely stay a concept. Building a car would not only cost a lot of money to produce, you also have to deal with the ridiculous safety and emissions tests. While Steve Jobs managed to introduce many technologies, the iGo may be one that never sees the light of day.
