What car shows are to regular cars, SEMA is to tuners and car companies. This is a show for people who just want to see some outrageous cars. Here, car companies and tuning companies can show off insane versions of their new car models. Many of these cars are 1000-hp monsters and are barely road legal. But it gives car companies a chance to let their imaginations run wild and just have fun for a change. There are many insane cars coming to SEMA this year, but here are five cars that look completely insane. The 2013 SEMA Show takes place from November 5- November 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Ford Focus ST - Ford will be bringing over 57 different cars to SEMA this year. Many of them will be ST versions of the Focus. Some will have Gulf colors while others will be standard tuning cars. Besides the Focus, tuned versions of the Fiesta and Mustang will also be coming along for the fun.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - Chevy is bringing three different types of Corvettes along. The engine has not been fiddled with, only the bodies have been played with. The three versions are the Pacific, pictured left, the Gran Turismo, and the Atlantic. Along with three Corvettes, Chevy is also bringing four Camaros and an SS sedan.
Jeep Cherokee - Chrysler will be bringing along not just Mopar versions of the new Cherokee, but also Mopar versions of the Chrysler 300, Ram 1500, and Fiat 500L. There will also be Mopar accessories for serious off-roading to go along with the intense Cherokee.
Ford Mustang - There will be around three different types of Mustangs, including this one. Each will be fitted with a 5.0L V8 good enough for 750-hp.
Ford Transit Connect - Besides the wide array of Fiestas and Mustangs, Ford will also be bringing 10 different versions of the new Transit Connect van. Each will have a different theme on the outside and will be incredibly low to the ground.
