Introducing the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept

Back in the 60's and 70's, Cadillac was making cars that seemed more like boats. They weren't very fast and didn't handle very well. But they were luxurious, sort of, and they were very comfortable and relaxing.

Now, Cadillac has unveiled a new concept that may be a modern version of the Eldorado. It's called the Elmiraj and unlike the Ciel which never saw the light of day, this new concept may have a chance of being made. It's around 17 ft. long, yet has a modern look to it both inside and out. Forget small engines and stupid hybrid systems, this uses a 500 hp twin-turbo V8. Glad to know that Cadillac hasn't completely stopped using V8 engines. There's more good news; it's rear wheel drive. Perfect for some real fun driving.

Inside, there are many similarities to the CTS and XTS. One very clever thing is the back seats move forward to allow easier entry, then move back to offer passengers a more comfortable ride. The back seats even recline for added comfort. No word on whether this concept will become a reality, but since this uses the chassis from existing models, chances are this modern day Eldorado may actually become a reality.
