Introducing the First Folding Car
There are many cars that are designed for the city. Most cars used for city driving are small cars like the Mini Cooper and Smart ForTwo. Even with the Smart that can park sideways, there is still a chance that you may have to drive around a while looking for a spot. Now, there is a car that can park almost anywhere.
It's called the Armadillo-T and it's built by the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). What makes this car so special is that it can fold into itself, kind of like an armadillo. Now, you will be able to park anywhere you want, even if it's not an actual parking spot. It's not a very fast car, powered by four electric motors and developing a top speed of only 37 mph. It's probably best to stay on local roads or any place where there might be slow traffic.
The interior is cramped, but it's very basic, which is good. There is only one dial in the middle so you don't get distracted while you drive. It also has side cameras instead of traditional side mirrors. There is no word on whether this will be sold to the public or where it will be sold. If it does make it into the local cities, the parking problems may actually be solved.
