Redefining Off-Roading with the Volkswagen Aqua Hovercraft

1 minute read

There are many cars built to take on rocks and other off-road terrain. The one's that can take on the most terrain and keep going are usually Jeeps. But Jeeps can't really go through water unless it's shallow. Hovercrafts were designed to float over land and can easily travel over water. Now, one designer has created a hovercraft that can be used for everyday transport.

The Volkswagen Aqua Hovercraft can travel over any terrain, including grass, water, snow, and even ice. Four propellers control the craft. Two propellers lift the car up to keep it afloat, while the other two propellers move it forward.

Powered by an electric/hydrogen fuel system, this was designed to help people who live in areas prone to lots of flooding. The Aqua Concept is much faster than a regular boat but hard to steer or control as most hovercrafts usually are. At least it won't get stuck when it floods.
